Policy and Administrative Assistant in Brussels Pirate MEP Markéta Gregorová is looking for someone in her Brussels office who can advise her on legislative work in the European Parliament, with a primary focus on the INTA, AFET and SEDE committees, as well as assist with relevant administrative tasks. You will be called upon to perform a multitude of tasks including: * support Markéta in her legislative work in the respective committees, with a focus on arms export and surveillance technology, * research relevant for parliamentary positions and legislative amendments, * keep up to date on the political and academic debate within the field, * assist the Policy Advisor, * in-house communication, organisation and follow-up of meetings, research, administrative and communication tasks. We expect: * policy and research experience in a similar position or in a political/government organisation/NGO, * a general understanding of the European Union and the European Parliament, * fluent in English; proficiency in German, French, Czech or other languages is an asset, * an understanding of the core values of the Pirate movement, * personal integrity and professional approach to the work, * passion for work with Open Software tools, * enthusiasm for work in an international team, * full support for transparency in public affairs as well as deep respect for privacy in personal matters. We offer: * full time position as an Acredited Parliament Assistant (APA) in Brussels, * initially a one year contract as an accredited assistant in the European Parliament with the possibility of extension, * salary based on experience and in accordance with Parliamentary regulation, * work in the best political party with possibility to participate in a meaningful and transparent policy.
